okay, so tomorrow is DVF day! and yo, i need some kicks. i mean, i think i speak for the whole population of NYC when i say that people who aren’t fashionistas stick out like sore thumbs. welllll, everyone sticks out in NYC – its kind of our thing. but when you’re trying to sneak into one of the most spectacular shows, well, ever… youve kind of got to look 100% nouveau/old riche, on the ball, in it to win it – im running dry on cliches here, but you catch my drift. and unfortunately, im a little short of cash, period. so my options are to either collect pennies in a cap until i have enough for a pair of loubies, or cut out some of these fabulous shoes below and paste them on my feet.
who doesn’t love a good makeover? princessa mia goes from frizzy, stressed-out nail-bitting “ugly” duckling to full out glamorous queen of fab. i dont know about you, but thats exactly my kind of fairy tale.
i’m so sorry for being so distant & uhm, not here? these past few days. i’ve needed to do some more thinking and reevaluating of my life. hopefully i’ve finally reached an epiphany. (:
so anyway, want to see some CURRENT inspirations?
i know you do.
don’t you love when girls pull on menswear pieces and make them just so sexy? that’s my favorite look to pull off, a boys look that looks even better on me. a few of my faves;
- a white button-down oxford + black leggings + sneakers
- a big boys sweater + a tank underneath + leggings below
- the white button-down oxford + leggings + a belt below the bust + boots(mycowboys!)
- white button-down tucked in + a pair of blue cutoffs
- suit jacket + tee + ripped skinnies
what are your fave girlboy trends?
gotta find a way to jump over the moon. only thing to do it jump, over the moon.
do you feel like you’re just stuck in a rut sometimes, in a dark place? it happens to me sometimes. fortunately, today has been a rut-free day so far, and i’m hoping to keep it that way. i had a good time in classes & a great time after school. not even the ortho managed to ruin my day for me!
basically, everyone has their own ways of getting out of these little dark points in their lives. for some people its clothes, or makeup, or learning, or sports. for me, it’s socializing. and not in a circle of people im uncomfortable with, but with people i love who make me laugh. if i can do that once a day, its like my apple, keeping the doctor away. CLICHE ALERT! so, that’s how i jump over the moon. how do you?
p.s. if you’re ever in union square, find your way to Book of Wonder. not only are there some great books, and some great events, there are also fantastic cupcakes. like, delicious.
everyone harbors secret dreams of things. im dreaming of the day i move to manhattan and create my haven to be the way i want it – an office with wall-to-wall shelves, a kitchen with sleek lines and antique deco, a simply elegant bedroom… anything i want it to be.
